{get.it.yourself}

So as I'm folding yet another load of laundry, I had the opportunity to listen in on a most interesting conversation between my two little girls. They were playing "baby," in which Addy played the role of "mommy" and Delaney played the role of "baby." Here's how it played out:
Delaney: {crying - a lot}
Addy: WHAT DO YOU WANT, BABY?
Delaney: (in her best baby voice) Bottle. Bottle.
Addy: GET IT YOURSELF. I'M BUSY READING MY BOOK.
Delaney: {crying more}
Addy: BABY, GET YOUR BOTTLE. I'LL BE THERE IN A MINUTE.
Delaney: {still crying}
Addy: {in a most exasperated state} BABY, I AM READING MY BOOK. I'LL TAKE CARE OF YOU LATER.
Delaney: {still crying}
Addy: I'm done being the mommy.
And there you have it. For all of you mommies out there, I know there's times where we feel the very same. But isn't being a mommy just the best job in the world . . . most of the time. :-) Oh, I guess none of you will be hiring Addy for babysitting jobs. I don't blame you.
