About Me

My photo
so as much as i'd love to have photoshop for my life, it just isn't going to happen. so here I go, blogging about my life, my photography . . . in a non-photoshopped sort of way. life can get pretty messy, but I am thankful that my God is always there, no matter how imperfect and flawed I may be.

So the theme this week over at i.heart.faces is "smiles." So I only have about five hundred thousand (give or take) pictures to go through and decide exactly which one I should use. Are you kidding me? This decision could take hours, days, months . . . But I have none of that. So I just had to make a decision and stick with it. UGH. I LOVE capturing a smile, and this picture absolutely made me smile. This precious little boy was recently adopted from Haiti, and I had the utmost privilege of doing his first ever photo session. He was fascinated by being able to "see" his picture, so we had to stop a lot. But, I fell in love with him and his sweet, genuine smile. His family has a lot to smile about, as they welcome him to his new home.

Need some more smiles? Go over to http://iheatfaces.blogspot.com.

This little guy dazzled me with all of his personality and charm! He reminded me of my own three year old, as he preferred to call the shots. But that's the beauty of child photography. It's more like a play date, and sticks and footballs are most certainly allowed. P.S. What is it with boys and sticks? My girls could walk past a million sticks and never feel compelled to pick one up. The boys that I photographed at this particular location had to pick up EVERY SINGLE ONE. And there were about a million. Made me smile.

This family of three boys showed up especially enthusiastic to take pictures. OK, not really. But, I did my best to pump them up, and they were so much fun! Their mom was absolutely GORGEOUS, and I gave her extra credit for having nothing buy boys in her house! I love photographing families who are real, and this was just an absolute treat. When I can capture something genuine with my camera, it's a good day.

When I meet a new kid that I'm going to photograph, I like to ask them a lot of questions. It helps them to warm up to me, and I get to know what makes them smile. Apparently, I had asked one too many questions of this good lookin' fella. He looked at me after several questions and said, "I just don't know. Is that OK?" Yep.

I have had the privilege of photographing this doll since she was born! She was especially fun this last time, as her personality is really sparkling at this age. And, she was perfectly happy to sit in the chair for a bit, which made my job super easy! This little girl steals my heart each time I photograph her.

So I am WAY behind on posting photo sessions, and I have SO much to share! This handsome fellow and I had so much fun, as he got to play in the most AWESOME boat, built by his great granddad. Isn't it INCREDIBLE?? This family is absolutely SO precious, and they are expecting another little guy to join their family in a few short months! I can't wait to meet him! For now, sweet A stole the spotlight and dazzled us all with his gorgeous blue eyes.

Oh how I love collages! They can tell such a story! I'm just dipping my toes into the collage world out there . . . There are SO many options and ideas, but my time always seems to run so short! I created this collage of a little boy who was celebrating his first birthday with his first cupcake. (Click on the collage for the full effect!) As you can tell, he was a pretty big fan of the cupcake (who wouldn't be??). It's set up more like a comic strip, but I love the story it tells! Check out more fabulous collages at http://iheartfaces.blogspot.com!

So it's dessert time over at i.heart.faces, and you know how much I LOVE desserts. And this dessert in particular is one of my favorites. I mean, anything with 2 sticks of butter, 2 cups of sugar, a whole bag of chocolate chips (among other things) HAS to be good. Amen? Not necessarily good FOR you, but oh so yummy. And, then, to top it all off, I throw in some extra jumbo chocolate chips for the top. And this is why me and swimsuits just don't go together. Head on over to i.heart.faces for some more yummy dessert photos . . . I think I gained five pounds just looking at them. :-)

Here's another PRECIOUS one year old with the most amazing blue eyes. His mom decided to go out to the 18th green of the golf course where the Heritage is played each year. Wow. It was STUNNING! (But the sun was STRONG . . . I don't think I could be a golf photographer!) I had such a great time with sweet Jackson, and he was sure to bat those gorgeous eyes at me plenty! Happy birthday, sweet Jackson! Here's to many more birthdays, little one.

I have had the pleasure of photographing sweet Mary since she was tiny, and I've returned every three months to capture her growth and beauty! I'm a little sad because she has turned ONE now, so I won't get to see her as much as I did. BUT, she has grown into a most gorgeous little girl. Hopefully, her mom will keep inviting me back anyway! Happy first birthday, Mary!
