I absolutely adore the photo journalistic side of photography, as it's really what makes my heart soar - capturing real people as they really are, not pretending or fake. I had the utmost privilege of photographing some amazing kids at a camp called Victory Junction (http://www.victoryjunction.org/) a few weeks ago. These kids deal with a lot more than most of us could ever think of and, yet, they remain hopeful and even joyful. This particular young lady didn't know what to do when she was aware of the camera, so I didn't get what I wanted. Then, the magic started as a horse sauntered over. There's something very calming about animals to kids, and I love what I captured here. She totally forgot I was even there. It was finally . . . her. Head on over to i.heart.faces to see some amazing photo journalism taking place!!

I've been having quite a bit of beach fun lately with all of my beach sessions, so this was SOOOO hard to pick!! I happen to be quite blessed to live about 25 minutes from the Hilton Head beaches, so we're there quite a bit! This sweet momma was having such a blast with her precious son "jumping" the waves, a favorite past time of my little girls as well! Enjoy one of my faves, and head on over to i.heart.faces for more beach fun.

The last two weeks have been a whirlwind of editing pictures . . . super late at night, skipping lunch, verrry early in the morning . . . Slowly but surely, though, I'm resurfacing from the weight of a ton of photo sessions in a short period of time. Don't get me wrong . . . I'm most grateful for each client that has come my way! Truly, each one is a blessing! From superhero boys to Clemson tiger fans to beach nuts to the Brady Bunch (kinda - 7 kids in ONE family!), to Michigan siblings, I hope you enjoy this mass post of pictures.

Can you stand how beautiful these twin girls are?? Seriously?? I was in all of my photography glory photography these two beauties. I wanted to take them home with me. But I thought Willy might be mad. And their mom probably wouldn't be too happy either. Enjoy!

Well I am constantly surprised by my little clients, as I photograph them exactly as they are! I recently photographed a beautiful baby boy that totally gave me a run for my money! He did not appreciate my presence, and made sure I knew it! But, after much waiting, this baby boy could not have been more gorgeous and sweet. He made the most hilarious face, which just made me roll. Doesn't he look surprised?! If you want some more surprises, head on over to i.heart.faces.

I know. It's been forever. OK, not forever, but you get the idea. The girls and I did one last tour of the upstate to make sure we got to see the whole fam before {gasp} school starts. Who knew it was ALREADY AUGUST. People, my oldest baby starts KINDERGARTEN next Monday. I'll need support so get ready to send me chocolate. And lots of it. On another note, we had an amazing and exhausting visit to the upstate, which included 5 photo shoots, one of which lasted for about 4 hours near High Point, North Carolina. (More to come on that one!) For now, can I just say that I love, love, loooove my GPS guy? I was astounded to arrive at my destination, hours from home, at the precise time he said I would without making a SINGLE WRONG TURN. This is nothing short of miraculous. You should be impressed. If you knew me at all, your jaw is dropping right now. AND, to really knock your socks off, I even went through a drive thru on our way home from my mom's house. I do not typically go through drive thrus of any kind - ever - they scare me. If you saw how I drove, you'd know why. I won't disclose how many mirrors I have knocked off of my car. So, needless to say, I've been editing away on all kinds of precious pictures. Enjoy. I had a blast.
